WWE Raw Results (06/11/12) – Hartford, Connecticut

WWE Raw 06/11

We are live in: Hartford, Connecticut

Commentators: Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler
_________________________________________________

Raw intro starts.

Justin Roberts introduces John Laurinaitis to the ring.

Laurinaitis rolls down the ramp and enters the ring.

He’s about to introduce himself when Vince McMahon suddenly comes out. Vince power walks his way to the ring.

Laurinaitis offers a handshake.

Vince says he’s not going to shake his hand. He has no idea where that hand’s been. They’re not buddies. THis is about business. He’s going to give him a job performance evaluation. Give him one reason why he shouldn’t fire his pencil necked butt right now?

Laurinaitis says he has two words: people power. As they approach the 1000th episode of Raw, they’re about to make history. He is an advocate of people power, and the people love him for it.

Vince asks the fans if they love him for it. They don’t.

Laurinaitis says they used to boo him like that years ago. Now they respect him as the man he is. They also have a couple things in common. They’re both visionaries and innovators, as well as astute businessmen.

Astute businessman? So he’s the one who signed Lesnar and cost them two lawsuits? He’s the guy who actually hired the wrong one legged wrestler. And he’s astute?

Brock wasn’t his fault. It was Triple H’s fault.

What about resigning Show to a big contract with a bonus. What was he thinking? The guy hasn’t performed effectively since 1999.

With all due respect, Vince is a little bias with the Big Show. He knows that DX once showed Vince’s head up Show’s buttocks. When he sees what Show does to Cena in the steel cage at No Way Out, he’ll know he made a wise investment. He does it all. Not only is he the General Manager of Raw and Smackdown, he’s the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. The locker room looks up to him as a mentor, a leader, and a friend.

Vince says they can’t even understand him. How can they be his friend?

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus comes out.

Sheamus says it’s great to see Vince again. He looks great. As World Champion, and after hearing they banter back and forth, he wants to let them know that Johnny IS a friend. He’s such a good friend, he’s the kind of friend that’ll fine a guy half a million dollars just because he can. He’s the kind of friend who will hold a personal vendetta against someone because he got pushed aside.

Vince notes that “FireJohnny” is trending on Twitter.

Sheamus adds that Johnny is a friend who just so happens to be the worst General Manager in WWE history. So Vince, on behalf of all WWE Superstars, and everyone watching at home, kick Johnny out on his arse!

Johnny says he doesn’t represent the locker room. Stay here. He’s going to find an opponent to make Sheamus regret saying those words.

Vince says it better be an impressive match. Every match better be very, very impressive. If he doesn’t impress him at the end of the night, he’s going to hear these two words: YOU’RE FIRED!

Laurinaitis hobbles out of the ring with a disgruntled look on his face. Vince gets in Laurinaitis’ cart and drives off in it. He gets to the top of the ramp and then throws the cart off the top. Sheamus laughs in the ring as he awaits his opponent.

-Commercial-

Cole notes that during the Del Rio/Kahli match on Smackdown last week, Alberto sustained a concussion so a new number one contender for Sheamus’ title will be named later tonight.

Laurinaitis comes out. He says he found an opponent, and he’s not in a good mood.

Tensai comes out along with Sakamoto. Tensai heads into the ring as Sheamus’ opponent.

[Winner via Pinfall: Sheamus]
[Time: 09:19]

Backstage, Vince, Laurinaitis, and Teddy Long watch Sheamus.

Vince says that didn’t go well for him. That’s strike one. Now who will Sheamus face for the World Title?

Vickie Guerrero walks over to Vince.

She says they have two former world champions on the roster, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler, and she thinks they would be great contenders.

Vince says that’s a good idea…unless Laurinaitis has a better one?

Laurinaitis says of course he does, but in the spirit of “people power”, what does Teddy think?

Teddy says there are four world champions on the roster. Swagger, Ziggler, Kahli and Christian. They could compete in a four way match tonight and the winner faces Sheamus at No Way Out.

Vince says that’s a very, very good idea.

Laurinaitis says he was thinking of that too and tells Teddy to get him a coffee. Vince gives him a look and Laurinaitis adds “please” before awkwardly fist bumping with him.

Vince looks at him and says he has small hands before walking away.

-Commercial-

Back in the ring, Tensai is being aggressive with Sakamoto, yelling at him and pulling at his hair. He then punches his worshiper down and kicks him in the face. He continues to pummel him before tossing him out of the ring. Tensai exits the ring, picks Sakamoto up and slams his head against the announce table. He then rams the back of his head into the turnbuckle post. He throws him into the ring barricade and kicks him some more. Referees come out to try and stop him. Tensai yells at Sakamoto in Japanese.

The camera pans over to Cole and Lawler. They talk about how Raw will approach 1000 episodes in six weeks, and many celebrities have discussed how Raw had an impact on them.

A video plays that has Seth Green talking about when he got involved in a six man tag match with John Cena and Triple H.

Backstage, R-Truth is talking to himself. Matt Striker is there with him, and he asks how he feels after Show attacked him and Kofi a couple weeks back.

Truth says he’s fine, but little Jimmy was the one traumatized by all this.

He looks to Little Jimmy and says he can’t be so sensitive. He has to straighten up. The truth is, on Sunday, Big Show is gonna lose to Cena. When Cena steps in that cage, Show is going to find out that the big-

Show suddenly comes out of nowhere and punches Truth in the head knocking him out cold. Show stands over him looking high and mighty.

-Commercial-

A replay is shown of Show knocking out Truth.

[Time: 2:43]

Ricardo enters the ring and acts like he dominated the match. Santino grabs Ricardo’s shirt and pulls it off revealing a Justin Bieber shirt underneath. Ricardo runs away red with embarrassment while Santino and Layla laugh.

Backstage, Otunga is talking with Vince.

He understands that Vince is giving Laurinaitis an evaluation. He says Laurinaitis is doing a great job, but if Laurinaitis does get fired, he knows a certain someone who has a Harvard mentality and a body as good as Vince.

Vince says he doesn’t like ass kissers and calls him a parasite.

Kofi suddenly appears and tells Vince he wants to face Big Show tonight.

Laurinaitis turns up from behind and says he gets to face Big Show…in a steel cage.

Kingston leaves satisfied and Vince gives Laurinaitis kudos for the match.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan is heading the ring to do commentary for the next match.

-Commercial-

Daniel Bryan come out and heads into the ring.

Daniel Bryan. CM Punk. Kane. Clearly one of these superstars is not like the other. He’ll admit it; he’s nothing like Punk and Kane. They both have a weakness. They have a weakness in the form of a 95 pound distraction named AJ. Post haste, it’s all about jealousy. Punk is jealous that he proved himself to be the superior wrestler by making him tap out. Now he’s trying to go out with AJ to make him jealous. It’s pathetic. And Kane thinks it’s going to second base when a woman looks him in the eyes and doesn’t vomit. They’re both obsessed with the woman who, let’s face it, is still in love with Daniel Bryan. How can you blame her? She had the opportunity for a split second to be with something as great as all this! As AJ can attest, once you go Bryan, there’s no point in tryin’ AWWWWW YEAH!

But quite frankly, he’s not interested in AJ. What he’s interested in is the WWE title. This week. question and answer time with Daniel Bryan will be short. This Sunday at No Way Out, will he become WWE Champion? YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

WWE Champion CM Punk comes out and stands at the top of the ramp.

For somebody who claims to no longer be interested in AJ, he sure does talk an awful lot about her. Turns out she’s pretty cool.

Punk enters the ring.

He and AJ have one thing in common, and that’s him. Outside the ring, she’s waaaaay out of her league. And inside the ring, he’s not even close to being in his league. And AJ is sorta crazy, and he digs crazy chicks. And if there’s anything he digs more, it’s his WWE title. OVer the past couple months, he’s beaten Bryan, Bryan’s beaten him, Kane’s beaten both of them, but it doesn’t matter because. He’s either gonna beat the deranged freak, or he’s gonna beat Kane. Either way, he’s walking out WWE Champion.

NO. NO. NO. What happened to him? He used to respect him. Quite frankly, he’s changed. He calls himself the voice of the voiceless, yet he panders to everybody. There’s a reason why all these people are voiceless; they have nothing intelligent to say. Case in point, these people love to yell at Big Show about how he sold out. But the biggest sell out in this entire company…is him.

So says the “superstar” in the YES YES YES t-shirt. See that ramp? That stage on top of it? Almost a year ago he sat on that stage and spoke his grievances on it. And since then people have told him that was the best moment in Raw’s 1000 episodes. He rolls his eyes at that because most people who said that didn’t like him when he started out. The only thing that’s changed since he spoke his mind is nothing. He hasn’t changed one bit. He’s the same guy he was. He achieved success at the highest level on his own terms. He hasn’t kissed anybody’s ass. He hasn’t compromised for anybody, but he can’t be the same for him. They used to be the same. He shattered the glass ceiling, but since them he’s become an obnoxious, insecure, goat-faced moron. Which is fine because the WWE can always used obnoxious, insecure, goat-faced morons. That’ll be hard to fit on a t-shirt. Whether he likes it or not, at No Way Out, he’s giving him a wakeup call when he puts him to sleep.

Kane comes out next and heads to the ring.

Let him remind the two of them who, or what, he is. Over the years, among other things, he’s set fire to good ol’ JR, he’s electrocuted Shane McMahon’s testicles, and he tombstoned a priest. In other words, his “pipe bombs” are actual pipe bombs. That’s why this Sunday he’ll leave with the WWE Championship.

AJ walks out and tells them to stop. She enters the ring.

She tells Kane that regardless of what he says, she looked into his eyes last week. And she saw that deep down, in that tortured soul, he actually has a heart.

Punk says you gotta looooooove crazy chicks.

She continues. Daniel, they say you never get over your first love. She knows she hasn’t.

She looks at Punk. Punk, well he’s pretty much the coolest guy she’s ever met in her entire life.

Bryan asks what her point is.

AJ says her point is she knows that the best man will win.

Laurinaitis appears on the TitanTron.

He says in the name of “people power”, the fans are going to see a match they’ve never seen before. Daniel Bryan and Kane are going to face CM Punk…and AJ.

A replay is shown of Vince warning Laurinaitis that if he doesn’t impress him by the end of the night, he’s fired.

Back at ringside for the final time tonight, Vince McMahon comes out. He heads to the ring along with some security guards. They all enter the ring.

Vince says he’s always had a warm spot in his heart for Connecticut. He lives in this wonderful state. His daughter Stephanie was born in Hartford. It’s appropriate that since one life begins here, that one life, professionally, ends here. John Laurinaitis, come on down!

Laurinaitis comes out and heads to the ring with his crutch. He enters the ring.

Laurinaitis says that he doesn’t appreciate what he did to his scooter. Second of all, he doesn’t need all these security guards. No matter his decision, he wouldn’t think of laying his hands on him.

Vince says at least he’s a comedian. The security guards aren’t for him. They’re for Johnny. They’re going to walk a certain someone right out of this arena, and right out of his business.

Johnny says don’t make a decision he’ll regret. Let’s look at what he did. Raw and Smackdown have become destination TV. He is needed if the WWE is gonna be successful especially when Raw goes to three hours. He needs him, and the fans need him. Do the right thing for himself and for the WWE by allowing him to keep in charge of running the era of “people power”.

“people power”. Those two words are synonymous with Laurinaitis. He has two words synonymous with himself as well. John Laurinaitis…

Big Show comes out and heads to the ring.

Show says he understands that he’s giving a job review. Let him help. John has made a few mistakes, but the one thing he did right was give him an ironclad contract meaning he can say and do whatever he wants. He knows that he could fire Show, couldn’t he? If he fired him, he would have to pay him millions of dollars per year to do absolutely nothing. They know that won’t happen because he doesn’t pay for nothing. Don’t get mad at Laurinaitis. It wasn’t his fault. They both know whose fault this is. Every stupid costume he had to wear. Ever movie he made. Every time he was on Sports Center. What is the one thing all those had in common? Vince. He did EVERYTHING he asked him to do. He wouldn’t let him be a giant. Giants are scary. He had to entertain people. Smile more! Let people in. Nobody likes an angry giant. With his new ironclad contract, he doesn’t have to be part of his dog and pony show. He gets to be what he really is: a giant. So don’t worry so much about firing Mr. Laurinaitis. He should be concerned about the other John. John Cena. His golden boy. The great white knight. The cash cow! At No Way Out his golden goose is going to get his feather plucked. At No Way Out, he’s going to prove that this man-

John Cena comes out and heads to the ring. He shakes Vince’s hand.

Ah yes, Hartford. Home of the whale! ALWAYS an exciting bunch. He could be out all night with the, but he has official business. When Show started all this, he first blame him for not defending him. Then he blamed Vince for doing entertainment stuff. What’s next? Blame McDonald’s for chicken nuggets? He should blame someone stupid enough to dump a truckload of money into Show’s house, Laurinaitis. Now we’ve been forced to listen to show ramble on about not being a giant.

Wait a second. He may mess his brain up a little bit, but he’s always been a giant. For fourteen years he has been the world’s largest athlete. What makes now so different? For once, everything revolves around him. The stars have aligned and he has finally stacked the deck in his favor. He got the contract he wants. He got the match he wants. And he got the opponent he wants. Look at this! He put himself in a match that he WILL win according to him. He’s going to beat him down. But…what if he doesn’t? Does he realize what he set himself up for? If he doesn’t beat him with all he’s got going for, if he doesn’t destroy him, there is nobody left to blame. If he doesn’t pummel him, no way will anyone look at him at the world’s largest athlete. Hell be the world’s largest disappointment. And with that ironclad contract, he’ll have to show up and listen to the people call him a sellout.

So Show, if he doesn’t win, what happens then?
