Smackdown General Manager Paige has officially announced the five female names that will represent the blue brand at next Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, although there may be some trouble already brewing.
Unlike Team Raw, which will be “managed” by an inactive (and injured) Alexa Bliss, the Smackdown lineup currently has no formal leadership. Last week Paige offered the job of team captain to Charlotte Flair, but after losing yet another title match to Becky Lynch at WWE Super Show-Down last month, a lack of confidence left her unwilling, or unable to do the job.
So far, the team consists of the “Empress of Tomorrow”, Asuka, her new best friend Naomi, former (two-time) Money in the Bank winner Carmella, and newcomer striking specialist Sonya Deville. However, a snubbed Mandy Rose has shown that she has serious issues with her former Absolution teammate getting a spot on the team instead of her, especially when she personally eliminated Sonya from the women’s battle royale at WWE Evolution.
Charlotte Flair was officially announced as the fifth member of Team Smackdown on the women’s side, but the second generation superstar was mysteriously absent from this week’s show, despite Paige attempting to introduce her to the live Manchester crowd.
