The ongoing trend of managers getting relieved of their duties in the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season already appears to have painted a daunting picture for other coaches in the respective league. Nantes boss Antoine Kombouaré could be the next in line to get the sack after his team has failed to counter the challenges of the new season astutely.
The list of expelled managers in the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season includes the names of Peter Bosz (Lyon), Michel der Zakarian (Brest), Jean-Marc Furlan (Auxerre), Oscar Garcia (Reims), and Olivier Dall’Oglio (Montpellier).
Currently 14th on the points table, Nantes will take on Nice in a league fixture on Sunday. Before the game, Kombouaré, who has experienced seven separations in France before, was asked about the succession of dismissals among the Ligue 1 coaches over the last ten days. As quoted by RMC Sport, the manager reacted:
“It’s difficult to explain, you have to ask the directors. But the feeling I have is that they are panicking. They are all panicking. The presidents are stressing out. So they do what they want.”
