Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have reached agreements in principle with Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Pepe to the join the club in the coming days.
The 35-year-old Portuguese defender had been pushed in the Principality’s direction hard in recent days by Jorge Mendes, but the former Besiktas and Real Madrid central defender had preferred a return to Portugal for personal reasons and hours ago was on the verge of accepting an offer from FC Porto.
However, the Italian journalist is reporting a change of heart on Pepe’s part.
As for Fabregas, Di Marzio claims that the player has an agreement with AS Monaco and that the Principality side are “convinced” that the Spanish international will be joining him after competing in his final game for Chelsea, an FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest, today.
