Dolph Ziggler Criticizes Kofi Kingston Ahead of ‘Super ShowDown’

WWE has posted an interview with Dolph Ziggler on YouTube. The video comes less than 24 hours before Ziggler faces Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship at Super ShowDown.

The two Superstars have feuded many times over the years and nearly every title has been up for grabs between them, except for the WWE Championship. Ziggler acknowledged that Kofi earned the title, but he also pointed out that the champ has Xavier Woods and Big E backing him up every step of the way.

Ziggler is his usual confident self of course but when asked about what makes him different than Kingston, his words echoed the sentiments of many WWE fans. Those fans feel that Kofi is perhaps not championship material.

“When I look into his eyes, I see someone that works hard. I see someone that works smart. I see someone that wants to do good for the community and the world and the business of professional wrestling and sports entertainment. But at the end of the day, he is a nice guy. And that is fantastic for shaking hands and kissing babies and doing PR tours around the world. But if you wanna be WWE champion, you have to be willing to stab someone in the back and I’m ready to do that every single day.”

Ziggler has been a less than part-time Superstar over the past few months. WWE is allowing him to take time off to pursue other interests, including standup comedy. Many fans believe that Dolph’s absence will eventually lead to an exit for him and that he will ultimately land with AEW. But that is pure speculation at this point, as neither side has publicly confirmed any future business together.
