Tomorrow Macerata will have a chance to conquer the Cup after the victory in the season 2008/09 over Cuneo. This evening in the first two sets Macerata controlled the situation on court. In the third set the team of Modena woke up and started to fight in order to win the set and save a hope to participate in the big final. However, the 4th set, played on advantages, brought a deserved win to the team from Macerata. The MVP of the public was nominated Cristian Savani who scored 11 points: 2 personal aces and 2 blocks.

The Italian, European and World Champion from Trento got the third Final of Coppa Italia consecutive. Tomorrow will try to obtain the Cup, that wasn’t able to do last season (lost against Cuneo 0-3). In the semifinal of this year both Trento and Belluno played on a high level. We have seen beautiful personal aces, great efficacy in attack, spectacular defence (not only with hands…) and heart to fight. However, the players of Sisley, coached by Roberto Piazza, weren’t good enough to stop Trento, perfect in every element of the game. The best scorer was Osmany Juantorena with 20 points: 6 personal aces, 14 in attack (58%), nevertheless, the MVP nominated by the audience was Matey Kaziyski who scored 8 points with 50% in attack.
The final match between Lube Banca Marche Macerata and Itas Diatec Trentino will take place tomorrow, February 19th, at 17:30.
