Major Update On Shawn Michaels Coming Out of Retirement and Why WWE Is Donating Money At Kane’s Request

As noted, WWE star and Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, will be making his return to WWE TV to be in the corner of The Undertaker for his match against Triple H at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6th.

Following the announcement that Kane will be returning to TV, it was reported that Kane’s return in Melbourne, Australia will be used to setup a tag team match featuring Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement to team up with Triple H to face The Brothers of Destruction.

Furthermore, it was reported that WWE is making a $100,000 contribution to a local non-profit organization in Knoxville at the request of Jacobs.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the donation being made by WWE is being done to offset any potentially negative press or backlash that might arise from Glenn Jacobs appearing at the event in Saudi Arabia given human rights issues surrounding the country.

With regards to Shawn Michaels, WWE had initially wanted him to compete at the first Saudi Arabia event back in April, however, Michaels remained adamant that he was not coming out of retirement. The belief is that the money offered to both Shawn Michaels, and Brock Lesnar, who is also returning to WWE for the Crown Jewel event, was so big that neither man could turn the deals down.
