Ligue 1 vice-champions Lille have today confirmed the arrival of 24-year-old U20 Brazilian international goalkeeper Léo Jardim from Portuguese side Rio Ave.
The shot-stopper signs a 5-year contract until 2024 and joins for a reported €6m and will wear the #1 shirt.
The player, who had also been courted by AS Monaco as an alternative to Montpellier goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte, had the following to say on the move:
“I am very happy to join Lille. It is a very good opportunity for me, for my life, and I intend to seize it. It is a new challenge, a dream that is coming true, and I am delighted. I cannot explain how I feel. I am very motivated by the fact that I am joining a team like Lille, with all their history.
