It looks like the decision has been regarding which match will close out the first joint-brand pay-per-view since the latest WWE Draft.
As we reported earlier today via PWInsider.com, the final match currently scheduled for Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view will be Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg.
With Shane McMahon being added to the Men’s Traditional 5-on-5 Elimination match, The Undertaker is rumored to be working a match with someone involved in the match based on the outcome, Brock Lesnar being a part-time worker and Goldberg doing the “one-and-done” routine, there were discussions about closing the show with the Team RAW vs. Team SmackDown LIVE match.
In terms of the plan for the outcome of the match, Dave Meltzer noted in the latest issue of his Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has been planning on having Lesnar go over in the match.
When the two last met in what is still to this day Goldberg’s last match in WWE, he was the one who got his hand raised. With the former WCW star noting in recent interviews that he expects Sunday to be the final match of his career and considering the fact that Lesnar will still be active after this weekend, the decision is one that was easy to make as long as Goldberg was on board.
