Tonight sees WWE Backlash take place with the first of the co-branded PPV events which will see several title matches take place, and the current speculation could see a major title change happen on the show.
According to Dave Meltzer, of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he believes that AJ Styles will drop the WWE Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura tonight in what is expected to be the main event of the show.
During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio he had the following to say:
“There’s no reason not to [change the WWE Championship]they’re booked against each other going forward. If AJ beats him again it would make no sense if they’re going to keep booking them unless they’re going to move to AJ and Joe. So I think a title change makes the most sense. I don’t know if they’re going to do it but I think it makes the most sense.”

The title match is now a NoDQ after their recent Greatest Royal Rumble match, which ended in a count out and several chair shots from Styles, as well as all the low blows that Nakamura has made a trademark of his since WrestleMania34.
