Day two of the trial featuring CM Punk vs WWE Doctor Chris Amann wrapped in a Cook County, Illinois courtroom on Wednesday, with Amann continuing testimony and being cross-examined by Punk’s attorneys.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Amann has been on the stand, and from a trial victory standpoint, the feeling is there are no damages Amann can tangibly claim. Amann admitted he has not lost his job based on the accusations made by CM Punk, he is not making less money because of what Punk said, and his friends do not treat him differently based on what Punk said. Amann’s claim is that he had been emotionally distressed by WWE fans at live events making fun of him when they see him, and people on social media aiming derogatory statements at him.

The hosts noted that the real truth in the case is that CM Punk will either have concrete proof of a staph infection diagnoses, which is what he claims was misdiagnosed by Amann, and we are essentially waiting to hear that information. If it is believed Punk is lying about the staph infection, the jury could “stick it to Punk” for lying about his condition. Meltzer and co-host Bryan Alvarez pointed out that there has been no testimony made by Amann with regards to his health insurance premiums rising as a result of Punk’s comments, which could be a point of victory with regards to Amann pursuing damages.
The trial continues this week, and we will provide updates as they become available.
