On Saturday night, “The Icon” officially announced his retirement. Shortly after doing so, he spoke with the official WWE website about struggling to make the decision to end his career.
Sting spoke with WWE.com after his WWE Hall Of Fame induction in Dallas, Texas on Saturday evening and spoke about his struggle with his decision to retire.
“The only thing I would like to share is that, man, it’s something that I battled with until all the way up to the last minute pretty much, as to whether or not I was going to retire,” said Sting. “It just makes sense right now.”
Sting continued, “I mean, I don’t want to [retire]. Every wrestler, ‘One more match, one more match.’ Although I do believe wholeheartedly I could do it, I just think it’s time for me to put my boots in the middle of the ring.”
