Tye Dillinger was set to face off against Shinsuke Nakamura tonight on Smackdown Live with the WWE United States Championship on the line.
However, just moments before the show went live, backstage interviewer Mike Rome announced that Dillinger had suffered an injury to his hand at Monday night’s live event in Macon, Georgia. The blue brand superstar will unfortunately require surgery, and will be replaced by R-Truth in what should have been his championship opportunity.
At this point we are not sure how much of the reported injury is 100% legitimate, or if certain parts of their report are being manipulated for storyline purposes. We have reached out to WWE for comment and will report back as more information becomes available.
