Following her return at SummerSlam, Becky Lynch kicked off last night’s episode of SmackDown.
Lynch said that when she had to give up the Raw Women’s Championship in May 2020, it was one of the hardest things that she ever had to do. It felt like she was giving up her identity and her life as she knew it. Lynch said she’s been working every day since then to make it back to where she once was.
Lynch said she has a new set of priorities now that she’s a mother. And if you think she was dangerous when she was just fighting for herself, you have no idea how deadly she’s about to be.
Lynch addressed the way she defeated Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Lynch said she’s sorry — for absolutely nothing.
Belair interrupted Lynch, then Zelina Vega, Carmella, and Liv Morgan also appeared. Belair wanted a SmackDown Women’s Championship rematch against Lynch last night, but Lynch declined the challenge.
Belair, Vega, Carmella, and Morgan then faced off in a fatal four-way elimination match. Belair got the win to become the number one contender to Lynch’s title.
Last night’s main event segment saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos host a family celebration. Finn Balor confronted Reigns and challenged him to a Universal Championship match on SmackDown next week. After a brawl broke out, The Street Profits evened the odds and helped Balor take out The Usos as Reigns got away.
